FAQ
FAQ
Q: What kind of wax do you use?
A: Soy
Q: How many FO’s do you have?
A: 300 currently
Q: What are your favourite scents?
A: Anything Gourmand (Food). Vanilla, Chocolate and Coconut are my faves right now.
Q: What are your least favourite scents?
A: I’m not into Florals, Ocean or Clean/Fresh scented. I really do not like Lavender.
Q: What unusual scents are in your creations that most people don’t know about?
A: Licorice, Tonka Bean, Benzoin and Smoke.
Q: What is the percentage of the Fragrance Load you use?
A: 8.44%-9%. I don’t like to go above that range, because I’m not a fan of strongly scented candles. Soy wax doesn’t hold fragrance as strongly as paraffin, so even at that amount, the scent is pleasant and not overwhelming.
Q: What advice would you give to future candle makers of the world?
A: Don't go into candle making thinking you will save money making candles versus buying candles. Unless you are buying a ready-made kit, the start up cost can be expensive. Wear a respirator mask if you are working with any scents. Work in a ventilated area (outside is best) and keep coffee beans in bowls in your work space if inside. When you choose the container you want to work with, ask a candle supply expert which wicks are best. Buy a heat gun to melt down old wax and fix holes and cracks in your candle tops.
